Is Google Workspace for Education free?

Education Fundamentals is offered free to educational institutions that meet Google's eligibility criteria. Education Standard and Education Plus are paid editions with additional security, analytics, and teaching features. Because Google changed its education licensing model between late 2025 and early 2026, we confirm the current terms with you before applying.

Can our existing school email be migrated?

Yes. Teacher and administrative staff email can be migrated from your current system. Student accounts are usually created from scratch.

Do we have to buy Chromebooks?

No. Workspace for Education works in a browser on any device. A Chromebook is an option for centralized, low-maintenance management of classroom devices.
