What is BigQuery?

BigQuery is Google Cloud's data warehouse that requires no server management. It queries very large datasets with standard SQL and scales storage and compute independently. Queries are billed by the amount of data scanned or reserved compute capacity. It connects directly to reporting tools such as Looker and Looker Studio.

Queries that drive up BigQuery cost

The most common cause is queries that scan an entire table (SELECT *, queries with no date filter). Partitioning, clustering, and a per-query scan limit reduce cost significantly. We configure these settings from the start during setup.

Is BigQuery overkill for a small company?

No. BigQuery runs on a pay-as-you-go model, and a certain amount of query and storage is free every month. For small data volumes, the monthly cost is usually low.

Can data be pulled from systems like Logo, Mikro, or SAP?

Yes. We set up regular transfers using a database connection, export files, or integration tools. We schedule the transfer so it does not strain the live system.

Can we migrate from a Teradata or Oracle data warehouse?

Google's data warehouse migration tools and SQL translation services support these migrations. We work out the scope and duration based on your current object count and report dependencies.
