What is Google Cloud VMware Engine?

Google Cloud VMware Engine is a full VMware environment running on dedicated hardware in Google's data centers. vSphere, vSAN, and NSX are managed with the same tools. Your virtual machines are migrated without reconfiguration. This is the path with the fewest changes to move from VMware to the cloud.

Can I bring my VMware license to Google Cloud?

Broadcom and Google Cloud announced license portability that allows VMware Cloud Foundation licenses to be used on Google Cloud VMware Engine. We check together whether your existing agreement supports this.

How long does migration take?

It varies with the number of virtual machines, data size, and network connectivity. A small group is migrated first, then the rest proceed in batches. A rollback path is kept ready at every stage.
