How Google Cloud pricing works

There is no fixed package on Google Cloud. You pay for the resources you use. On this page we explain the pricing model, discount types, and how to keep cost under control.

How does Google Cloud pricing work?

Google Cloud runs on a pay-as-you-go model: virtual servers are billed per second, storage by capacity used, and BigQuery queries by data scanned or reserved capacity. An automatic sustained-use discount applies to resources that run for a long time in a month, and a committed-use discount applies to resources with a one- or three-year commitment.

    Set a budget and alerts

    A monthly budget for every project, with email alerts at the 50, 90, and 100 percent thresholds.

    Tag your resources

    Tag resources by project, environment, and cost center to see who is spending what.

  3. 03

    Size correctly

    Regularly apply Google's sizing recommendations. Turn off idle servers.

  4. 04

    Commit to stable workloads

    After observing usage that does not change for a few months, get a committed-use discount.

    Watch data egress

    Data transfer to the internet and between regions is the most surprising line item on the bill.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Google Cloud cost per month?

It varies with usage. There is a large gap between a setup made of a few servers and a platform running intensive data analytics. If you share your current infrastructure, we work out a monthly estimate with a free cost assessment.

Is the bill in dollars or in TRY?

Google Cloud prices are dollar-denominated and the bill comes from Google today. Xen Bilişim's deployment, migration and management services are invoiced in TRY with VAT. Our authorization for partner billing is in progress.

If I commit, do I pay for the portion I don't use?

Yes, the committed amount is paid even if not fully used. That is why we recommend a commitment only for usage that has looked stable for several months.
