What is Cloud Identity?

Cloud Identity is Google's identity and access management service. It provides user and group management, two-step verification, single sign-on (SSO) to third-party applications, and mobile device management. It uses the same identity infrastructure as Google Workspace, but does not include email or office applications. It has free and Premium editions.

Do I need Cloud Identity to use Google Cloud?

In a corporate Google Cloud environment, it is recommended that users sign in with company-managed accounts rather than personal Gmail accounts. If you are not using Workspace, Cloud Identity is the way to do this.

Does it work together with Microsoft Entra ID?

Yes. Users can be synced from Entra ID and sign-in can be handled through Entra ID. We manage Microsoft and Google environments together.
